KB0096: Jutoh complains that the cover design does not exist

See also: Creating cover designs in the Jutoh manual

Sometimes you may encounter this error when compiling:

WARNING (Jutoh): the cover design MyCover specified in your configuration does not exist.

or WARNING (Jutoh): no cover design was specified in your configuration.

You may have a valid cover in your project, but you also need to tell each configuration what cover to use, since different configurations can have different cover designs.

  1. Click on Edit next to your selected configuration (such as Epub or Kindle).

  2. Click on the search box at the bottom of the configuration properties and type Cover design (return) to go to that option. Now select the cover design that you wish to use, and press OK.

If in doubt about what cover design name to select, click on the Covers panel and see what the name is.

If this apparently didn't work, check that you really went to the Configurations panel in Project Properties, not just the Cover panel. Just selecting the cover in the Cover panel will not do it. The screenshot below shows what you should be editing.
