If your ebook causes Apple Books (iBooks) to crash, and no other ereader has this problem, check if you have embedded a font. A buggy font can cause a crash in combination with certain characters such as ones with umlauts.
Either change the font you are using, or replace the characters causing the crash. One user found that changing "ΓΌ" to "ue" fixed the problem.
