Working with fields in the Jutoh manual
You may see a warning about page references when you compile your book:
page reference found in document 'My Document'.
Or you may see page numbers in your book that show up in Jutoh as hyperlinked 'here' text.
These are either page reference fields, or cross-reference fields; although they initially show up as numbers in Jutoh, you can click on them to show the field properties. Typically, page references are found in a table of contents imported from Word (DOCX) files or LibreOffice/OpenOffice (ODT) files. They update automatically to show a page number, hyperlinked to that page. Unfortunately, ebooks don't have page numbers in the usual sense, so Jutoh has to show these links using the text 'here'.
To fix this in a table of contents, the best thing to do is to simply delete your imported table of contents and let Jutoh generate one from the chapters in your book. You can also create an 'advanced' table of contents that finds headings and generates a multi-level table of contents, using the menu command Build Table of Contents on the Format | Book menu. For more on this, see Building a table of contents in the Jutoh manual.
Similarly, if you page references are in an alphabetical index page, and your index entries have been imported as fields and not just plain text, you can delete the index page and use Jutoh to generate the index.
If your page references can not be eliminated in this way, it may be acceptable to leave them in, or you could replace them with simple hyperlinks to specific chapters or bookmarks.
