If you have a large portrait picture in your project, when you compile and view your Epub book you may see strange effects in Adobe Digital Editions and Bluefire Reader (Bluefire uses Adobe's reader code). ADE can show duplicates of the image, at slightly different sizes. Other Epub viewers may display it adequately, albeit showing different parts of the picture on different pages.
The duplication of the image on consecutive pages is undoubtedly a bug in Adobe's viewer code, but you can solve it by editing the image properties (click on the image) and setting the height to 100% (or a little less, say 98%, to ensure the bottom of the image does not get cropped).
You may see a message warning that a relative height doesn't work on Apple Books. So unfortunately an image won't be resized to fit a relative height, but if the picture is too large for the display, it will be resized on Apple Books. So adding a percentage height is harmless for a portrait image.
Note that this doesn't make any difference in AZARDI reader. It also doesn't seem to work in Epub 3 books using Adobe Digital Editions since a different (and still buggy) renderer is employed.
