Two problems can be apparent on Kindle devices and Kindle Previewer for images that are within a text object (not the image objects that you can add to a fixed layout page).
Images are not centred on the Kindle Paperwhite, although text and text boxes are centred correctly.
If you specify just one dimension for the image, such as the width, the aspect ratio is wrong on Kindle ereaders and tablets.
A workaround for the centring problem is to insert the image into a 1 row by 1 column table, as we have done in the title page of the Birds sample. Another is to use image objects instead of inserting images within the text object.
The aspect ratio problem can be fixed by setting both the width and height of the image. In reflowable books, this is not necessary.
