You may find image objects on a fixed layout page (not embedded within a text object) show with an incorrect size in a fixed layout book on the Kindle Paperwhite, and possibly other e-ink Kindle devices. It also shows in the Kindle Previewer in e-ink mode. This does not happen on the Kindle app running on tablets, or in Kindle for PC or Mac.
It is not known why this happens, but there are several workarounds:
switch off the configuration option Auto region magnification;
switch off the magnification per image object (this removes a level of hierarchy required for magnification and in doing so, fixes the size bug);
pre-render the image objects. You can pre-render all objects via the configuration option Pre-render objects, or you can edit image region properties in Project Properties/Fixed Layout, or you can edit an image object's individual region properties.
