If your text cursor is on a paragraph below a page break (represented by a dotted line), and you press return to insert a new paragraph, you may find that a new page break is added.
This is because the page break is part of the paragraph style, and the new paragraph takes the same style as the previous paragraph.
You can remove the unwanted page break by doing one of these:
use the menu command (or context menu command) Format | Insert | Page Break (Shift+Ctrl+E);
use the menu command Format | Text | Clear Text Formatting;
on the Styles tab of the Formatting Palette, click More and then Clear Direct Formatting;
apply a different style, for example by double-clicking on a style name in the Styles tab.
